It pained me to put an incorrect apostrophe in the title.
Call me a pedant or old-fashioned, but if I find an incorrect apostrophe I immediately jump to conclusions about the author’s attention to detail. I admit that I am that person who will change an incorrect apostrophe on a billboard the street, much to the embarrassment of my children. Recently I had to fill in a form for one of the UK’s broadsheets which asked for “Title’s, Initial’s, and Name’s”. Dear me, if that is the standard of journalism it is a sorry state of affairs.
I know financial modelling is more about numbers, rather than words. However, if a financial modeller doesn’t care about apostrophes or have a pedantic side, then why would they care about such subtleties as the intricacies of definitions and timing in a financial model?
Modellers, check your curriculum vitae for errors.
Recruiters, don’t employ a modeller with a disregard for detail.
